I was born at East General Hospital in the heart of East York and have lived, worked and raised my children, Emily, 15 and Alec, 12, here.
My real estate career started out somewhat as a hobby. Back in the 90's, my husband and I purchased investment and recreational properties in the GTA and Ontario and found that with a little bit of renovation and time, real estate appreciated in value...who knew?
This "hobby" turned into a full time career when I realized that I had an eye for houses in locations that were on the verge of popularity and desirability. As much as East York is my home, it is by no means the only place that I work. I have clients throughout the Greater Toronto Area, from Mississauga to Oshawa, Richmond Hill to Brampton. Many Realtors choose an area to specialize in, but not to the exclusion of other areas.
Today, I assist a variety of clients, including but not limited to:
First-time buyers who benefit from my experience and ability to help them navigate through the "new" world of real estate
New parents looking for more living space
Single women (the fastest growing demographic in real estate) who are not intimidated by the idea of "owning my own" rather than renting
Empty-nesters looking for less space and more disposable income for travel or vacation properties
Investors looking to renovate and sell or create rental properties
Newcomers to Toronto
Sales/Purchases due to death and/or divorce
I have been truly blessed to work in a career where I assist people with making one of the biggest decisions in their lives. I am honoured to have worked with people as clients and kept them as friends. I invite you to read my testimonials at:
Finally, I want to say that if you're just browsing the internet to see what's out there, you've begun your search correctly. Realtors know that the internet is where it all begins. However, I truly believe that choosing a Realtor to help navigate your way through the process is a vital part of the experience. Yes, you can look at online photos, go to open houses on your own and get advice from family and friends but when it comes right down to it, you need a Realtor to be your advocate.
Every transaction that I've ever been involved with has been handled as if it were my own purchase or sale. And all my clients know this. I believe that this is how I've been able to have a career that has been mostly through referrals or meeting new clients at my open houses.
When you're ready to take the next step, please call me. It would be a privilege for me to help you...
If you are buying a home, then, before you decide on whether this home is your dream home, the following checklist will help you look at prospective homes with a critical eye. We suggest printing this page and putting it on a clipboard. When you find a home that really interests you, mark the features you see and note their general condition on this list.
Home value sometimes referred to as "Value in Use", is best described as the probable price at which a home trades in a free, competitive, and open market and is synonymous with the market value.
SELLING YOUR HOME ON YOUR OWN - OR USING A REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON
If you have decided that now is the time to sell your home, you might be thinking: should I hire a Real Estate Sales Representative or do it alone. Have you ever considered repairing your own car? Anyone can buy the tools and parts. However, most of us just do not have the knowledge, training, experience or the expertise and commitment of time to do the job properly. Besides, there are plenty of experienced professionals to do the work for us.
When should I sell my home? Your answer to this question might be right now! If you have taken a job in another city or made an offer on a new home, or had an addition to your family, selling your home fast might be the most important goal you have. Most people, however, have some flexibility when they sell their home. Let us take a closer look at the most important factors that can go into this decision.
HOW REAL ESTATE MARKET CONDITIONS AFFECT YOUR OFFER PRICE
A hot market is a "seller’s market". During a seller’s market, properties can sell within a few days of being listed and there are often multiple offers. Sometimes homes even sell above the asking price. Though most buyers want to get a "deal" on a home, reducing your offer by even a few thousand dollars could mean that someone else will get the home you desire.
There are many television shows today that focus on home staging. If you have not watched any, do yourself a favor and tune in. They all say the same thing: do not even consider putting your house on the market until you have taken a close look at its condition. Experienced sales people know that you only have one shot at impressing potential buyers, so take some time to prepare your home for showings. You will be rewarded with a faster sale and a higher offer.
